Lights, camera, action – the call is out for young up and coming animation and film makers to enter the 2012 City of Greater Bendigo Mic Up Productions Clips and Flicks Short Film Festival.

City of Greater Bendigo Youth Participation Officer Rory White said all young film makers and animators are encouraged to enter Greater Bendigo’s first youth Film Festival.

“This is a great opportunity for local animation and film makers to showcase their creations and just how much talent we have hidden here in Bendigo,” he said.

“We know there are many budding animation and film makers in Greater Bendigo and we want them to put their best work forward for everyone to enjoy.

“As this is our first year, the competition is completely open with no specific categories or genres.  However the only requirement is that animation and film makers must be aged between 12 and 19 and live, work, or study in the Greater Bendigo region.”

White said entries will be featured at the inaugural Clips and Flicks Film Festival set to take place at the La Trobe Visual Arts Centre on Sunday  April 13, 2012.

Online registrations are now open for entries into the Clips and Flicks Short Film Festival at www.yobendigo.com.au  Registrations and animation / film must be entered by 5pm on March 16.
